Pump in the neck: From colds to cancer, doctors make misdiagnosis

A young woman in the UK has been diagnosed with cancer a month after doctors said the cause of the tumor was colds. Dailymail.

Last March, 28-year-old Paris Wells noticed a bump on his neck. As soon as she saw her, she called the doctor, but the only appointment she got was five days later, only on the phone.

To avoid a five-day wait, Paris went to the Emergency Hospital the next day attached to Princess Royal University Hospital in Kent. Doctors, mMe Wells Meat told her it “didn’t look like cancer.” According to them, the bump was caused by a cold that the young woman had a week ago.

But, over the weeks, the pump got bigger and harder. The young woman asked her aunt, a radiologist at the same hospital, if she could have a double magnetic resonance test in April.

After tests, the results confirmed that her tumor was not associated with mucus, but rather secondary Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a rare cancer that develops in the lymph nodes and spreads throughout the body.

“My mother came with me to my meeting. When the results came in, I was asked if I knew what Hodgkin’s lymphoma was. I answered yes to them. The doctors told me I was suffering from this, “he said in an interview Dailymail.

Three-quarters of people with this cancer live for at least ten years. The young woman will start chemotherapy in the coming months.
