His apparent indifference to the Capitol riots is particularly troubling. While Biden said on Jan. 6 that violators of the commission’s subpoenas would be prosecuted, Garland’s spokesman said the department would “make independent decisions based only on the facts and the law.”
Garland’s legal institutionalism, applied to Trump, is now in danger of collapsing like a house of cards. That could backfire for him, Biden and Democrats, as polls suggest they could lose slim majorities in the Senate and House of Representatives in the midterm elections.

Garland has become a henchman of the lawless former president. Because of his legal decay, he somehow “normalized” Trumpism to victory in 2024.
