Viagra pills, now penile prostheses: A lawmaker revealed on Tuesday that the Brazilian Ministry of Defense had purchased 60 inflated penile implants for the military.

“I have identified the millionaire cost for penile prostheses for the military,” said the center-left MP. Elias Vaz told AFP in a statement that he had already purchased 35,000 Viagra tablets for the troops on Monday.

The lawmaker claims to have obtained information about penis fitting from a government transparency website that provides data on public spending on request.

The unit value is 9,900 to 12,000 euros, and the silicon prostheses, which are 10 to 25 centimeters long, will cost the government 3.5 million rice (688,000 euros). Says Vaz.

The Ministry of Defense, requested by the AFP, did not immediately comment.

“Brazilian people are finding it difficult to get medicine from health centers, and a group is being treated with more expensive prostheses,” Vaz said.

He has promised to take legal action along with center-right Senator George Khajuraho so that any irregularities will be investigated.

Like Viagra pills, penile implants are used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The Ministry of Defense explained about Viagra on Monday, “Sildenafil Acquisition” aimed at treating patients with pulmonary artery hypertension.

This justification did not prevent Internet users from giving their all on social networks, some of which evoked the “dicta-hard” memory of the military, the generals who were in power from 1964 to 1985. “With these pills, the military can say more about democracy,” the satirical site Sensationalista teased.
