The first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has arrived! The film will hit theaters on February 14, 2025, and this will be actor Anthony Mackie’s big screen debut as Captain America. He took on the role in the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and he’s taking on an adventure of his own in the new trailer, which is packed with action and political intrigue on par with the series.
This is the fourth installment in the Captain America film series, making it the first solo franchise in the MCU to reach four films — even if Civil War feels like an Avengers movie.
As mentioned, Mackie takes on the lead role, with Harrison Ford reprising his role as Thaddeus Ross (originally played by the late William Hurt), Giancarlo Esposito in an as-yet-unrevealed role, Tim Blake Nelson returning as Samuel Sterns, Rosa Salazar as Diamondback, Shira Haas as Sabra (a mutant in the comic books), Dani Reimarez as Joaquin Torres, and Colby Lopez (WWE’s Seth Rollins) in an unknown character at the time of this writing.
Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah (Lucy) and written by Dalan Musson (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Matthew Orton (Moon Knight), and Malcolm Spellman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).
There’s a lot going on in this trailer, and it’s the first one we’ve seen. So, we’re going to take a look at every moment that gives us a deeper look into the movie and delve into some of the unexpected surprises in the comics that we spotted while watching the trailer over and over again. Let’s get started.
