    Dave Chappelle

Dave Chappelle It was strangely canceled by a Minnesota concert venue where it was scheduled to perform Wednesday night… after social media came under attack.

The comedian was supposed to take the stage Wednesday on First Avenue, a popular downtown Minneapolis venue, but hours before his completely sold out show they announced the cancellation of his show.

Chappelle’s show was announced on Monday, and tickets sold out on Tuesday within 5 minutes…but some people flooded social media, expressing their displeasure with First Avenue hosting Dave, for his controversial Netflix special.

First Ave says they heard the backlash and changed the face, explaining that they had let people down by not adhering to the “highest standards”. The venue says it’s a safe place and missed the impact Chappelle’s show would have.

One comment on social media… “Announced 24 hours ago because you know what you are making and you are simply chasing cowards money.”

What’s weird… The place had to know about Dave’s private and subsequent appearances, and The controversy is all born.

Dave will continue to take the stage Wednesday in Minneapolis, not just on First Avenue… The venue says his show will move to the Varsity Theater in Dinktown.

Chappelle has two more shows at the Varsity Theater on Thursday and Friday…so it will be interesting to see how his week plays out.

    Stay tuned…
