Canada will participate in a sea route to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Jolie announced Sunday.
The announcement was made following a meeting between UAE Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and the Minister.
“I had a fruitful meeting with my UAE representative. We discussed the need to increase humanitarian aid reaching Gaza by all means,” said Ms.me Jolly on social media
In a press release, the minister announced Canada's commitment to an international coalition “working to increase the flow of aid to Gaza through the humanitarian sea route from Cyprus.”
On Friday, facing a shortage of land aid, the European Union and the United States announced the opening of a sea corridor between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip to transport humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories.
