Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny This summer may not have spoiled the box office, but the fifth voyage of the legendary fedora-wearing archaeologist still sparks plenty of conversation. Actor Mads Mikaelson, who plays the villainous Dr. Fuller, added an interesting detail to that discussion. In an interview with GQ, Mickelson stated that Harrison Ford would be called a Nazi every time the two crossed paths during the film’s production.
Harrison Ford had some fun with Mads Mikkelsen on set Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny By mocking the Dutch actor’s evil Nazi character.
“Usually, he’d just see me wherever I was, randomly, far away, and he’d shout ‘There goes a Nazi!'” Mikkelsen recalled. ”
In the video, Mads Mikkelsen states that his character was about Warner von Braun, a Nazi rocket scientist who was recruited by the United States to lead NASA’s rocket research after the end of World War II.
Mikkelsen said he was fascinated by how in photographs of von Braun he appeared comfortably walking alongside the Americans, as if he had not been responsible for creating long-range missiles to kill civilians during the war.
“Normally, he’d just see me wherever I was, randomly, far away, and he’d yell ‘There goes a Nazi! ‘” ““

For his part, Warner von Braun said that being a member of the Nazi Party was essential to advance his scientific career, describing himself as a non-political scientist. However, it eventually became widely known that the Von Braun V-2 program used forced labor, killing thousands of prisoners during missile production.
Mads Mikkelsen’s character plays up this characterization, playing a hardened Nazi using his role as an American scientist for his own ends.
Of course, not everyone who heard Harrison Ford call Mads Mikkelsen a Nazi actually knew what he was talking about. According to Mikkelsen, this led to more than a few awkward moments where they had to tell the new crew members exactly what was going on.
However, Mads Mikkelsen showed humor about the whole ordeal, saying it was Harrison Ford’s “warm-up method” – something he appreciated. Mikkelsen had nothing but good things to say about the movie star, saying he’s full of energy like a teenager. He called Ford “a legend on many levels,” but appreciated that he did his best to make everyone around him comfortable.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny This is the third time Harrison Ford’s character has taken down the Nazis for the greater good.
This Nazi role plays well with the history of Harrison Ford’s beloved archaeologist hero Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny The third Indiana Jones movie featuring Nazis as antagonists.
The first film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, pitted Jones against Nazis who hoped to use the Ark of the Covenant to help expand Nazi power. Indiana Jones and the Last CrusadeThe third film in the series, the Nazis attempt to locate and use the Holy Grail that grants immortality.
Although the latest Indiana Jones movie didn’t upset anyone, the reactions from critics and audiences show that the film did much better than expected – and certainly better than the ill-fated. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which was released in 2008.
With a B+ CinemaScore and a 69% Rotten Tomatoes rating, fans of the series are advised to give the latest — and likely last — Indiana Jones a shot.
However, whether enough fans will see the film based on word of mouth to counter its poor box office performance remains to be seen.
