A father has told police he deliberately left his 1-year-old son in the car when it was 30 degrees Celsius outside.
The New Philadelphia, Ohio, Police Department said in a Facebook post that an unresponsive toddler was brought to the emergency room at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital by his father last Thursday.
“During the preliminary investigation, investigators found that some of the information provided by the father was contradictory,” read the publication, which was posted online Friday.
After the police who interrogated him presented evidence and new information gathered, he finally confessed to what had happened to his son.
According to the Facebook post, “1-year-old child left unconscious in car for approximately five hours, outside temperature 30 degrees Celsius”.
The young father explained to the police that he did not forget the child and that he acted deliberately because the child was unruly at home.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder and charged with endangering the life of a child.
