A coach strangled a 14-year-old student with a sweater after an argument over push-ups in the hallway of a Michigan high school.

The violent attack at Ypsilanti High School in Michigan on June 4 was captured by the school’s surveillance cameras.

According to ABC News, the coach in question ordered the student, identified by family as Michael Moon, to do push-ups as punishment after pacing the hallways. The student reportedly refused saying it would hurt his hands.

In the video, the student can be seen calmly walking down the sidewalk toward the exit, with a sweater in his hands, until he is choked from behind by the coach.

At length, the student tries to free himself while the trainer tightens the cloth around the teenager’s neck.

After a few seconds, the man finally releases his grip and lets a frustrated Michael go.

After seeing these pictures, parents have called for legal action against the coach, saying they are defamed.

“I was outraged that someone could come up behind a 14-year-old and strangle him,” Yolanda Ellis, Michael’s mother, told Fox 2 Detroit.

“After the incident, Michael didn’t go out anymore. He didn’t want to go back anymore and couldn’t finish his days at school,” she continues.

Ypsilanti High School said in a statement that the coach was removed from the school and banned from entering the school or participating in school events.
