Washington leaders are expected to activate the running back Brian Robinson from the team’s reserve/non-football related injury roster early this week, sources say, paving the way for the rookie to return sooner rather than later.
While the news is generally positive, it doesn’t necessarily mean Robinson will play The fifth week against the Titans. There’s also a chance Robinson will practice this week but not play, using it as a ramp up period. He will be evaluated at the end of the week for his condition.
Meanwhile, pass star Chase Young, who is currently in reserve/physically unable to perform while recovering from the ACL tear he suffered during the 2021 season, is targeting a comeback mid-season, sources say.
Robinson, the hugely popular rookie who appeared in line to be the season-opening RB player, is recovering from He was hit by two bullets in late August. The Washington, D.C. Police Department said Robinson was the victim of an attempted armed robbery or car theft.
Robinson was also lucky that two bullets pierced his knee and lost all major parts (ligaments, tendons, bones) and did not cause serious damage. A source says Robinson’s wounds have been healed.
In the third round of Alabama State, Robinson did a simulation series this week with the strength and conditioning crew, mimicking what it would be like in an NFL game. The sources said he came out with positive comments.
With Robinson recovering, the RB right-back Washington has started this season has been Antonio Gibson, who averages just 3.1 yards per dash attempt.
Robinson’s final selection will be within the next 24 hours, which will enable him to activate.
