Hezbollah announced overnight Sunday that it had fired rockets into northern Israel after Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon killed three of its fighters and wounded 12 others.

A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that two militants were killed in a drone strike on Sunday in the Israeli border town of Taybeh.
The third fatality, identified by the movement as a Hezbollah fighter, was attacked in the southern city of Beit Lif “several days ago” and died of his injuries on Sunday, Lebanon’s health ministry said.
Yet according to the ministry, at least one Lebanese and eleven Syrians were injured, including two seriously – an infant and a child – in an Israeli strike that “targeted” Maroub near Tertqayya.
The pro-Iranian movement has fired on the Israeli military almost daily since the war in Gaza began in October.

The violence was exacerbated by the July 30 assassination of the head of the Lebanese Armed Forces, which is claimed by Israel.
In response, Hezbollah announced that it would launch Katyusha-type rockets at the new headquarters of the “146” during the night from Sunday to Monday.e A division of the Israeli army in Zadon.
For its part, the Israeli military announced that “30 missiles were fired from Lebanon towards the Kabri area,” many of which landed in open areas, saying no one was injured.
Earlier, he said he had “hit a Hezbollah terrorist group in Taipei region” and “hit a military structure in Tertkaya region”.
“Following the strike, secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of weapons inside the structure,” the army added.

On Saturday, the powerful movement announced it had launched drones at a military base in northern Israel in retaliation for the killing of a Hamas official in the southern Lebanese city of Saida.
It was the first such strike in Saida after Hezbollah opened a front against Israel in favor of Hamas.
Ten months of violence have killed at least 565 people in Lebanon, most of them Hezbollah fighters but at least 116 civilians, according to an AFP tally.
They forced about 100,000 people from their homes on both sides of the border.
Officials say 22 soldiers and 26 civilians were killed in Israel and the occupied Golan Heights.
