No jumping on a pig…

He asked not to ride one

Michael Shannon He didn’t hit the open road on the set of ‘The Bikeriders’… in fact, he wasn’t allowed near bikes during filming – says the director.

CEve Nichols Who directed and starred in the film? Butler Austin, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, Mike Feast And Shannon — says despite the biker character MS played in the movie, he never rode a motorcycle… because he wasn’t interested.

On the Real Blind Podcast., Nichols says the actors had to undergo extensive training to stand on the pigs… but Shannon skipped it and was therefore not allowed to ride.

Jeff says the first question Michael asked about filming when they discussed the film was whether he should learn to ride a horse… something JN says he definitely could have done if he had been willing to try.

BTW… motor skills don’t seem to be in Michael Shannon’s wheelhouse — because Jeff said Shannon didn’t even have a driver’s license when they made the sci-fi movie “Midnight Special” together in 2016.

The new film — centered around a group of outsiders who turn into an evil gang — was released in theaters on Friday… and it’s gotten strong reviews so far, with an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, it seems like no one’s too upset that Shannon didn’t hop on a bike… even if that might affect the realism of the movie a bit.
