    While the official publication of presidential election results in Senegal is still awaited, partial results provide the first outline of the voting map. Bassirou Diomaye Faye's victory in the first round seems assured despite the odds.

    Overall, it's a Pasiro Tiomae waved in favor of Fay. But the results of departmental vote counting commissions, which are still compiled at the national level, show differences.

    The new president-elect won mostly in urban areas such as Dakar's suburbs of Pikine and Quidiawe. The latter are important reservoirs of voters, especially the youth. In the capital department, Bassirou Diomaye Faye advanced well with 286,846 votes, while Amadou Ba, the candidate of the Macky Sall camp, counted 118,323 votes. The region – with its four districts and 19 municipalities – alone has over one million voters, or 26% of the national electorate.

    No surprise in the Ziguinchor area of ​​Casamance. Ousmane Sonko in this castle, Bassirou Diomaye Faye pulverizes his rivals. It consists of three departments: Ziguinchor, Pignona and Osoi.

    To the north, it leads to Saint-Louis. In the Mbour division, in the west, Bassirou Diomaye Faye won by almost 140,000 votes, compared to his main rival Amadou Ba who got more than 63,622 votes.

    On the other hand, the candidate of the presidential camp, Amadou Ba, is leading in the traditional strongholds of the ruling coalition, Matam and Bodor.

    In Phatik (Center), Outgoing President Mackey Sall's FortThe government candidate is leading, but lost in the Mbacké category.

    In the east, it opposes the department Tambakaunda, birthplace of Sidiki Gabba, currently occupying the prime minister's chair, since Amadou Ba left to lead his campaign. Finally, in the department of Kédougou, a special happened: Amadou Pa and Bassirou Diomaye Fay are neck and neck, each with about 10,000 votes.
