Rage against the machine They confirmed that they will cancel their North American 2023 tour due to Zac de la Rocha’s leg injury. The news comes after the band had to cancel their shows in Europe after Rocha was injured during a show in July, the second appearance on their reunion tour.

“It’s been nearly three months since Chicago, and I still look at my legs in disbelief,” I read Rocha’s statement posted on Instagram. “Two years of waiting during the pandemic, hoping we’ll have a chance to be a squad again and continue the work we started 30 weird years ago. Rehearse, train, reconcile, get back into shape. Then one and a half shows in and
Tendon tears. I felt like an annoying joke the universe played on me. While writing this I remind myself that it’s just a bad circumstance. Just after a moment. “

Rocha went on to explain, “Unfortunately, it’s a moment that requires a lot of work and healing. I have a severe rupture of my left Achilles tendon and only 8% of my Achilles tendon is affected. Even that part is seriously compromised. It’s not just a matter of being able to perform once.” Others, but it extends to core functionality moving forward. That’s why I made the painful and difficult decision to cancel the remaining shows on our North American watch in 2023.”

“I hate canceling shows. I hate disappointing our fans. You’ve all waited patiently to see us and this has never been lost on me. I don’t take it for granted. For you I have the utmost gratitude and respect.”

Rocha went on to thank his bandmates as well as everyone involved in making the tour. Fans of a band who have tickets for the tour “will be automatically refunded to the original payment method used at the time of purchase” if purchased through Ticketmaster or AXS. Concert goers who have purchased tickets with cash are advised to contact the box office directly.
