Richard Simmons’ team releases last photo and letter he prepared before his death

Richard Simmons prepared a social media post for his fans before his death at the age of 76.

They wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Hi everyone. Richard has been working hard on his posts for you. He had so many ideas and was working on them in advance… going back to each one and making changes until it was exactly how he wanted it before posting.”

“As you know, on the weekends, he would just post a picture with a caption,” his team continued. “He would always have his pictures selected and captioned for the upcoming weekend by Friday. So here’s the post Richard planned to share with you last Sunday. We thought you might like to see it.”

Simmons was scheduled to publish his last post on July 14, but he died the day before.

In the photo, a gray-haired Simmons is seen smiling as he wears a bright orange NASA suit, standing in front of a colorful wall.

“Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze at the stars. Love, Richard,” his caption read.

The weight-loss guru, whose real name was Milton Teagle Simmons, died on July 13, just one day after his 76th birthday.

Simmons allegedly fell in his bathroom and refused to seek immediate medical help despite his housekeeper’s concern.

He is said to have felt dizzy before his fall, but wanted to stay home for his birthday.

At approximately 10 a.m. the next morning, Simmons was found dead on the floor next to his bed.

The newspaper has since confirmed from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office that Simmons’ cause of death has been postponed pending an investigation.

The examination, which includes additional tests, can take up to three months before an official verdict is made.

Police reports indicate that there is no foul play in Simmons’ death.

The late TV personality was buried Friday in Los Angeles in a private funeral attended by his family and closest friends.

He was buried in the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

“My beloved Dick was laid to rest this morning surrounded only by family and close friends,” said his manager, Tom Estey. the people On behalf of Simmons’ brother, Lenny. “We pray for your continued love and support during this very difficult time.”

Simmons gained fame in the 1970s and 1980s after opening several gyms across the country and releasing high-energy fitness tapes. He has been out of the spotlight for a decade.

In March, Simmons revealed that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer.
