A Costco turned into a ‘water park’ in Manchester when a thunderstorm flooded it.
Heavy rains in the city caused water to spill from the roof of Costco. The event took place on Monday, June 12, but startling pictures have only just emerged.
In a video posted on Instagram, large puddles can be seen forming on the floor as shoppers take out their phones to start filming, while others desperately try to hold back the water.
On that day, the Met Office, England’s national weather service, placed parts of the Greater Manchester area under a general weather warning.
Heavy rain, thunder and lightning also washed away parts of Greater Manchester, with roads flooded and trees downed on various roads.
Warm temperatures from the previous weekend were tempered by rain, which flooded platforms at the city’s Piccadilly station and caused major delays for commuters.
Manchester City’s triumphant march after winning the Champions League was also delayed by the weather.
