She can’t move her hands after applying gel nail polish

A mum who can now barely use her hands believes she used gel nail polish to cause the condition, reports The Independent.

Lisa Dewey said she’s had her nails done for years with no problems. However, after getting her nails done with gel polish in February, her nails became inflamed and her toenails began peeling.

According to The Independent, it was caused by a bacterial infection, for which she was prescribed a steroid cream and antibiotics so she could get rid of it.

Last month, Lisa switched to acrylic nails and noticed that her nails were swollen despite using a different method for her nails.

She was unable to move her arms because of the pain, she told The Independent.

Lisa struggled to wash her daughter’s hair, fasten her seat belt in the car, and hold a pen.

She removed the gel polish and stopped using nail products and thought it was over.

However, after getting acrylic nails, the problem reappeared.

During this time, not only were her nails raised, but the skin around her nails became “like paper”, she told The Independent.

Another round of medication was recently prescribed to treat her.

This time, Lisa has learned her lesson and has vowed to avoid using chemicals on her nails.
