Local police explained that they were alerted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday and immediately intervened.

“Unfortunately, we can confirm that one died and another was taken to hospital where they are being treated for injuries, which fortunately will not endanger their lives,” police said in a statement.

“So far, we understand that the car involved was a taxi parked at the hospital shortly before the explosion,” police said, pointing out that “work is still underway to establish that this happened.”

“We are open-minded about the cause of the explosion, but as a precautionary measure, anti-terrorist police are conducting an investigation with the support of the Mercedes police as a precaution.”
