A Chinese tourist staying in a Tibetan hotel finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation after a body is found in his room.
Mr. The man, identified as Zhang, showed up at a hotel in Lhasa on April 20. Upon arriving at his room, the man notices a strange smell, the source of which he does not know.
Suspecting that the stench was coming from the bakery on the ground floor or from his feet, the tourist asked to change rooms.
Two days later, the police called him to the first room where he was staying.
“I asked them what was happening and they said someone died. I asked them where the person died. They answered: under my bed,” the man said.
Investigators told him they had opened an investigation, but immediately told him he was not considered a suspect.
Mr. Zhang quickly left Tibet and, after helping the guards what he could, says he is still in shock and having trouble sleeping.
“I used to stay up till 2 or 3 in the morning every morning, the slightest movement would wake me up. This phenomenon took me to a bad psychological state,” he says.
