A judge in federal court in Manhattan on October 12 ordered Mr. Trump rejected the request, a move the former head of state formally fought for three years.

Last Wednesday, New York Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Ms.me Carroll, 78, and Donald Trump, 76, were due on October 14 and 19, respectively.

The former president is scheduled to testify before a New York judge on Wednesday from his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, the New York Times reported.

We don’t know.me Carroll testified last Friday and lawyers for both sides did not respond to AFP’s requests.

The plaintiff, represented by Roberta Kaplan, tweeted “Carol vs. Trump” on Tuesday with a photo of her attorney saying “Good luck Robbie Kaplan for tomorrow,” but deleted the tweet later in the evening.

In this defamation action, E. Jean Carroll, former magazine columnist sheIn November 2019, a civilian attacked Donald Trump in New York.

She accused him of defamation in June 2019, calling the accusations that she sexually assaulted him in the dressing room of a New York department store in the mid-1990s “a complete lie”.

The Republican president, then in office (2017-2021), said he had never met her and that she was “not his kind of girl.”

The defamation case has been delayed by procedural wrangling, including whether Donald Trump should be represented by the US government because Donald Trump was president at the time of the alleged statements.

According to multiple media outlets on Tuesday, the former president’s lawyers have always claimed to be protected by their client’s immunity, especially for defamatory comments he allegedly made during his tenure.

But as Vice News site noted, the businessman delivered a new diatribe on his social network Truth Social on October 12, mocking the rape allegations against Ee. John Carroll.

So, according to lawyers cited by VICE News, Mr. The complainant could argue that Trump, this time as a private citizen, defamed him again.

Also, in his October 12 order, Judge Kaplan, E. Jean Carroll has hinted that she could seek damages from Donald Trump after a New York state law goes into effect Nov. 24. Taking into account limitation periods.
