    The New York judge who must organize the future historic criminal trial of Donald Trump, who was indicted on fraud charges since April, asked the former US president’s prosecution and defense on Thursday to agree on a date between February and March 2024.

    The formal hearing by Magistrate Juan Merson in a Manhattan court means a hearing will be held in time for the Republican primary for the November 2024 presidential election, for which Mr. Trump is leading in the polls. Conservative camp.

    Once the date is set, all parties, including the former president of the United States, can’t schedule anything else, requesting a New York state judge for Manhattan jurisdiction.

    During an April 4 appearance in Manhattan, Donald Trump was criminally indicted on 34 counts of tax fraud related to payments to cover up embarrassing affairs, including a sexual relationship with film actress X Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 presidential election. He has always refused.

    A US president has never been charged with such a crime.

    But Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case was deemed legally “inconsequential” and politically “dangerous” by lawyers and politicians.

    Stormy Daniels has not been quiet about legally paying $130,000 to her real name Stephanie Clifford, nor is it reprehensible to repay this amount.

    Donald Trump is accused of violating New York state campaign finance laws, hiding these transactions for “legal fees” and “falsifying the accounting records” of his company, the Trump Organization.

    The former tenant of the White House, who dreams of returning there but is surrounded by court cases, considers himself “innocent” and the victim of a political “witch hunt” in this criminal case.
