According to ITV, Boris Johnson attended the party hosted by his wife Gary on the afternoon of June 19, 2020, during his first imprisonment, when such meetings were banned.
Thirty people are said to have attended, including Lulu Light, an interior designer involved in the costly renovation of Boris Johnson’s controversial Downing Street apartment complex.
According to a Downing Street spokeswoman, Boris Johnson attended the rally “in less than ten minutes”.
According to ITV News, friends of the Johnson family attended another event on the terrace of the residence on the evening of June 19, which was denied by his services.
“It simply came to our notice then. In accordance with the rules at the time, the Prime Minister welcomed a small number of his family members out that evening, ”Downing Street said.
Boris Johnson, 57, who has been embroiled in a series of blockades on Downing Street, has been in the worst crisis since coming to power with a victory in the summer of 2019.
His popularity in the polls plummeted as anger over the parties prompted people to cut back on their contacts.
The head of government has so far escaped from his conservative camp a no-confidence vote and cites the results of an internal investigation by senior civil servant Sue Gray, which should be released soon.
Dominic Cummings, a former influential adviser to Boris Johnson, declined to be interviewed as part of the investigation, saying that if he agreed, “the prime minister would find out ridiculous stories.” Wanted to testify in writing.
Mr Cummings, who has been mounting attacks on his former leader since his departure amid infighting in late 2020, warned that “other damaging stories” would emerge if the prime minister did not step down.
