US President Joe Biden may announce his 2024 re-election bid next week, several media outlets reported Thursday.

In particular, according to the Washington Post and CNN, citing anonymous sources, Joe Biden should start his presidential campaign by releasing a video.

The Washington Post advanced the date to Tuesday, April 25, to coincide with the 2019 announcement that it had joined the race to defeat incumbent President Donald Trump.

However, the daily insists that the Biden team’s plans have not been finalized and the announcement could be postponed.

Already the oldest president in US history at 80, Joe Biden will be 86 at the end of a hypothetical second term.

His main opponent in the Republican Party this time is none other than Donald Trump, thus opening up the possibility of a re-run in the 2020 election, exposing the country’s gaping political wrongdoing.

In 2019, Joe Biden had already announced his candidacy via video. If many outside the political world initially saw him as a “has-been” since the end of his tenure as Barack Obama’s vice president, the former senator from Delaware won the Democratic nomination before defeating Donald Trump.

Joe Biden has already hinted several times that he will run for re-election, including during his trip to Ireland last week when he said ‘I plan to run again’.

Joe Biden’s supporters, however, have indicated there is no rush to formalize his entry into the race.

Republicans will face a divisive nomination battle among themselves, while the incumbent takes advantage of the absence of major Democratic candidates to challenge him.
