A man has been charged with murdering a teenage girl 40 years after his death

40 years after the tragic death of a California teenager, a 70-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder.

Five-year-old Annie Baum disappeared in January 1982 on her way to preschool alone, two blocks from her beach home.

Two days after she went missing, her tiny body was found in a wooded area. The child was raped and strangled.

Despite an investigation by the Coast Guard and the FBI, the culprit was never found.

On the sex offender registry, he spent more than 20 years in prison in Nevada.
