The lieutenant colonel of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) was fired on December 7 for making inappropriate remarks.

Philip Marcus commanded the IMPACT Air Force in Kuwait. Among other things, it aims to ensure the free and safe movement of people and goods.
In a statement to CTV News on Thursday, the ministry said, “These comments show a confusing misalignment with our company’s efforts to change our culture.”
“These allegations have led to the loss of confidence in the member’s ability to direct and effectively carry out the activities related to his appointment as Commanding Officer and he was immediately relieved of his duties,” the statement said.
Mr. Marcus has been transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force Aerospace Warfare Center in Base Trenton.
The dismissal follows a lengthy series of inquiries into allegations of sexual abuse. In mid-December, the federal government issued a formal apology to victims of misconduct and sexual harassment who worked in toxic environments within these companies.
