    Derek Hugh Praise for Richard Simmons Sharing behind-the-scenes footage from the late fitness mogul’s visit, Dancing with the stars.

    “In 2007, on my first season on @dancingwiththestars, I had the pleasure of meeting this wild ball of energy :),” Hoff, 39, wrote via Instagram Monday, July 15th.

    Along with the sweet tribute, Huff shared a video of Simmons singing a short song about Dancing with the stars “Derek has perfect hair, and I don’t want you to mess it up,” Simmons sings.

    Huff also reposted a video of Simmons’ appearance on the set to his Instagram Story the same day, writing: “2007. My first season on Dancing with the starsI was blessed with this improvised song by Richard Simmons. Rest in peace.”

    Hoff joined Dancing with the stars In 2007, he won six Mirrorball awards during his time on Ballroom before exiting the series in 2016. He has served as a judge on Dancing with the stars Since 2020.

    Days before Huff was charged, news broke that Simmons had died at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, July 13. He was pronounced dead at the scene after officers arrived at his residence.

    Simmons made headlines earlier this year when he took to social media to say he was dying after several confusing posts. Later that day, he clarified his health condition.

    “I apologize that many of you were offended by my message today,” Simmons wrote on X in March. “Even the press reached out. I’m not dying. It was a message about embracing each day. Sorry for the confusion.”

    Simmons later confirmed that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer.
