“Listen to my original song 'Jolene' while you wait for @Beyonce's COWBOY CARTER – Dolly P,” Parton wrote in a tweet on Wednesday evening. She accompanied the message with a photo of Beyoncé's newly released tracklist poster along with her own artwork for the original release of “Jolene.”
On Instagram, the “I Will Always Love You” singer also used her Instagram Story to share her fellow musicians' announcement and attached her own version of the song, which was captioned It was streamed on Spotify More than 600 million times.
In the comments on Queen Bey's post, which has racked up more than a million likes, thousands of fans shared their excitement for the nearly 30 songs released on Friday, with many honing in to point out one of Parton's most iconic songs.
“Joleneeeeeee I'm going to cry!” one fan commented.
Another added: “Legends 🫢 Dolly B and B🥹 Noooooooood.”
“This album is about to…baby, she's about to cut Jolene UP😮💨😮💨😮💨,” a third fan wrote.
Along with “Jolene,” the official tracklist includes: “American Requiem,” “Blackbird,” “16 Carriages,” “Protector,” “My Rose,” “Smoke Hour,” and “Texas Hold' Em”, “Bodyguard”, and “Jolene”. “Daughter”, “Spaghetti”, “Alligator Tears”, “Smoke Hour II”, “Just for Fun”, “II Most Wanted”, “Levii's Jeans”, “Flamenco”, “The Linda Martell Show”, “YaYa,” “Oh Louisiana,” “Desert Eagle,” “Riverdance,” “II Hands II Heaven,” “Tyrant,” “Sweet Honey Buckin’,” and “Amen.”
Additionally, Parton has been mentioned by name alongside country music legends Willie Nelson and Linda Martell are on the label, however, it is not clear if this means they will be featured or sampled in songs alongside Beyoncé.
