[EN VIDÉO] Terrifying Delight: A catapult cable goes into the launch

Catapult-type rides are made for thrills, but nothing like what two riders experienced when a cable gave way and they were thrown against a beam.

The horrifying incident, captured on video, took place on Wednesday night at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London, England.

Pictures shared on social media show two people taking their places on the catapult-like ride.

This type of carousel, most notably found in La Ronde in Montreal, propels two people into the air tied to a metal ball.

Two rubber bands keep the ball upright so it maintains a straight line in the air.

This time, when the ball was launched into the air, one of the two rubber bands holding it in place threw the sphere against a beam.

After hitting the metal beam, the ball hangs in the air on the remaining elastic.

Fortunately, the two people caught in the ball were uninjured, the Daily Mail reported.

A spokesperson for the park confirmed to British media that the ride was closed while an investigation into the incident was carried out.
