France: A corpse hangs on a wall in Seine-Saint-Denis

A man’s body was found decomposing Sunday in the kitchen of an apartment in Livry-Gargan (Seine-Saint-Denis), France, by a resident of the complex who returned after a six-month absence, police sources learned Monday. .

The woman had handed over the flat to a couple as her husband was there for work, police sources said.

On his return from Algeria, he found that a low wall “1.50 meters long, 1 meter high and 40 cm wide” had been erected in his kitchen during his absence, according to this source.

He noticed a strong smell of bleach and flies at the scene and informed the police.

At the scene, investigators drilled a hole in a low wall and found “a cover containing necrophagous insects, maggots and a form,” another police source noted.

When the wall was demolished, a male body was found wrapped in plastic.

A resident of the complex said he only knew the first name of the contractor who was supposed to carry out the work. Police sources said his phone was recovered from the house.

An autopsy is scheduled for the same day, and the Papigny prosecutor’s office, which opened the investigation into the murder, handed over to the crime squad.
