Prince Harry and Prince William She shocked the world when she appeared with their wives for the first time since 2020.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William and Kate Middleton, sometimes referred to as the “Fab Four,” made their way outside Windsor Castle on September 10 to watch the remaining floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth II in the wake of her September death.
However, the special occasion was marred by reports that Prince Harry and Markle have delayed the reunion.
“Yes, of course they were an hour late, because his father, now King Charles, told Prince William to extend the invitation because they found out that Meghan Markle had her book on American PR ‘alternative’, which she was on. So, it was a last minute call to avoid it, it was It breaks protocol (again),” royal watchdog Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.
Markle’s representative offered no comment when contacted by Fox News Digital.

Fordwich explained that Prince Harry and Markle likely had to “scramble” to be ready for the public moment, and while she couldn’t confirm that, she noted that the Duchess of Sussex usually has a hair and makeup team on hand.
“It was a last minute call, so yeah, they had to scramble to get ready, they weren’t in mourning.”
“An olive branch led the Prince of Wales to a 45-minute negotiation before the Fab Four reunion…Prince William was also appalled by some of the coverage that focused on Harry and Meghan’s moves on the day Queen Elizabeth II died rather than the scale of mourning,” added Fordwich. “So, he then decided to make contact with Harry and Meghan.”
The 45-minute negotiation was likely due to Prince Harry’s plea for adequate security. The Duke of Sussex is currently in a legal battle with the UK government as he fights for security after deciding to step back from his senior role as king.
“If we see more Harry and Meghan over the next few days, apart from Monday’s service, we won’t have word of an appearance until the last minute,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital.
“This is how they operate while in the UK, Prince Harry is currently in a legal battle with the government over his security, and I understand that the ‘negotiations’ that took place prior to Saturday’s joint appearance were related to security. We remain fearful for his family’s safety, but I think we are. We’ll see more of them.”

Royal author Christopher Andersen, who wrote Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, noted to Fox News Digital that the death of Queen Elizabeth II likely brought Prince William and Prince Harry together as she honored her.
“William and Harry came together at this moment in history to honor a grandmother they both loved, just as they gathered briefly for Prince Philip’s funeral and the unveiling of a Kensington Palace statue to honor their mother last year,” he said. “But it remains to be seen if they will return to their separate corners once the funeral is over.”
The royal author also spoke to Fox News Digital about Prince William’s surname change and how it could affect his relationship with Prince Harry.
“Harry knew this moment was coming,” Andersen said. “That’s why he and Meghan worked on their own to create a life far from the allure of the monarchy.”
He added, “As much as Harry loves his brother, he has always struggled somewhat in William’s shadow.” “Harry is happy that William and Kate are so ready, so willing, to bear the heavy burden of being the Prince and Princess of Wales. But if the Sussexes feel humiliated by Cambridge, one can only imagine how he feels now.”
Andersen said the royal family was “on its best behaviour” in an effort not to embarrass the family name in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
He told Fox News Digital, “William and Harry used to laugh and joke pretty much every time they got together. That jovial fraternal banter that was the hallmark of their relationship isn’t much obvious now.” “They’re civil enough for each other, but it’s about that. Everyone is on their best behavior right now, be careful not to do anything that would embarrass or upset their grandmother.”
King Charles III appeared to extend his olive branch to Prince Harry by mentioning his son and Markle in his first address after assuming the throne. However, it is not clear if any further steps will be taken to repair the father-son relationship.
“Charles extended an olive branch to Harry and Meghan by mentioning them in his accession speech, but it’s hard to imagine that much more will come of it,” Andersen said. “The palace holds its collective breath, waiting to see the new bombs contained in Harry’s upcoming diary.”
This is the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been photographed together since March 2020.
