    Jennifer Garner On Monday, she shared with her social media followers the death of her father, William Garner.

    She wrote in the post that he was 85 years old.

    Garner posted a series of photos of her father and a video of them together in a commercial for the Capital One credit card On her verified Instagram account“My father passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon,” he wrote.

    In a moment of hilarity, she continued: “We were with him singing Amazing Grace as he left us (Did we carry him through or scare him away? Good question).” “While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know that grief is inevitable, waiting in unexpected corners.”

    The “Alias” actress said she feels grateful.

    “We are grateful for Dad's gentle demeanor and quiet strength. For the way he would play with a sly smile, and for the way he always invented the role of every patient girl. We are grateful for his work ethic, leadership, and faith,” she wrote in the post, adding her family's thanks to the medical communities at the Medical Center. Charleston and the City of Hope area.

    “There is a lot to say about my father — my sisters and I will never finish talking about how wonderful he was, so bear with us — but today I share these memories along with my appreciation for the kind, wonderful man, father, grandfather he was, as well as the loving legacy he left behind,” Garner wrote.

    In January, she celebrated her parents' 59th wedding anniversary With another post on Instagram.

    “Happy 59th anniversary to my incredibly sweet and loving parents,” she wrote in the caption at the time. “Thank you, Mom and Dad, for giving my sisters and me a safe and happy start in life.”
