Journalist and political scientist Daria Dougina was killed Saturday evening when the vehicle she was driving exploded on a road near Moscow. She is 29 years old.
She is the daughter of 60-year-old Alexandre Duguin. Like his father, he strongly supported the Russian offensive in Ukraine.
They were returning together in different vehicles from a conservative cultural festival in the Moscow region.
“This is a barbaric crime, for which there can be no apology (…). There can be no mercy for the organizers, sponsors and artists,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people, including relatives and politicians, gathered in Moscow on Tuesday in front of Daria Dougina’s coffin, above which her smiling portrait hung, AFP noted.
“He died at the front for the nation, for Russia. The front, it’s here,” said Mr. Dakin, in a trembling voice, dark circles under his eyes, with his wife and mother of Daria Tuguina, Natalia Melendyeva.

The killing created a shockwave in Russia and undermined efforts by authorities to convince the Russian public that the offensive launched six months ago in Ukraine would not have negative consequences.

In an obituary, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned a “hateful, heinous crime” that “prematurely ended the life of Daria Dukina, a brilliant and talented person with a true Russian heart”.
Mr. Putin also posthumously awarded her an important decoration, the Order of Courage.
Ned Price, a spokesman for the US diplomatic mission, on Monday distanced himself from any speculation about responsibility for the killing. He condemned any attack on civilians and insisted that Kiev rejected any involvement.
