Ricky MartinHis nephew withdrew his harassment and affair claims against the singer at his court appearance on July 21, effectively closing the case.
Martin’s attorneys Joaquín Monserrat Matenzo, Carmelo Davila and Harry Masanet Pastrana issued a statement regarding the dismissal.
“As we expected, the court did not extend the temporary protection order,” the statement read. The accused assured the court that his decision to dismiss the case was his decision alone without any external influence or pressure, and the accused confirmed that he was satisfied with his legal representation in the case. The request came from the plaintiff asking to dismiss the case. This was nothing more than a troubled individual making false claims with absolutely nothing to prove. We are delighted that our client saw justice served and can now move on with his life and career.”
Martin actually appeared in a Puerto Rican court to address the allegations made by his 21-year-old nephew. Prior to that in early July, Martin was Restraining order served By his nephew who was martyred ill-treatment. Martin has denied the allegations against him, with the singer’s lawyer filing a statement on the matter last Friday.
“Ricky Martin has never, and never will, engage in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,” Martin Singer, Martin’s attorney, said. “Not only is the idea incorrect, it is disgusting. We all hope this man gets the help he urgently needs. But most of all, we look forward to having this appalling case dismissed once the facts are looked at by a judge.”
The singer’s brother also confirms that Martin’s nephew “suffers from profound mental health challenges”.
Other than this case, Martin is currently facing other legal issues with his former manager Sue him for $3 millionclaiming to owe her unpaid commissions.
