San Diego Comic-Con 2023: All announced

San Diego Comic-Con 2023 is back, and with it has come a lot of news from the entertainment world.

If you can’t attend SDCC this year, don’t worry. IGN covered SDCC 2023 live and in person, providing you with the biggest news from the conference. If you want to learn more about the collectibles and figurines announced at SDCC, check out our separate roundup on the subject.

Here’s a quick rundown of everything that was announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

Invincible: Season 2 exclusive poster revealed

The day before SDCC kicks off, IGN EXCLUSIVELY revealed a poster for the highly anticipated second season of Prime Video’s adult animated series Indomitable. We still don’t have a premiere date other than “soon,” but series creator Robert Kerman will be at SDCC promoting Season 2, with the session set to premiere July 21 at 5:45 p.m. PT.

The Walking Dead: Betrayal is a new survival and social trick-or-treat game from Skybound

Another piece of news coming a day before SDCC was from Skybound Games, where the developer revealed that they’re working on a multiplayer social trick-or-treat survival game set in the world of The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead: Betrayl will have players trying to survive an outbreak of the undead, as you’ll be crafting, cooking, surviving, communicating with party members, and maybe even doing a little shenanigans along the way.

The Walking Dead: Betrayal is due out later this year and will be released exclusively on PC via Steam. Closed beta testing is set for August 10th.

The Boys Spinoff Gen V Premieres Sept. 29

In the run-up to San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Amazon Studios has teased a September release window for its college-themed TV series. But on the first day of the convention, the studio revealed that Generation 5 will premiere on September 29 with three episodes, with the first season ending scheduled for November 3.

Blizzard reveals some of the changes and new plans coming to Diablo IV

During an interview with Us, Diablo IV Associate Game Director Joe Biborah addressed cases of separation fatalities that hardcore gamers experienced while playing the game. Piepiora suggested that a Scroll of Escape could circumvent the problem. But Piepiora also explained that Blizzard is making a number of performance tweaks in Diablo IV Season 1 that will help improve connectivity.

Piepiora also detailed more about Blizzard’s thought process about the controversial drop rate for Diablo 4’s uber-unique items.

The Borderlands hits theaters next year

Lionsgate Films has announced that the next Borderlands adaptation will arrive on August 9, 2024. The movie was announced back in 2015 and is being directed and written by Eli Roth.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake gets an August release date

Adventure Time: Fiona and Cake, a spin-off of Cartoon Network’s critically acclaimed animated series, premieres August 31. Along with the release date, we got the first trailer for the series.

Pokemon Ultimate Tours will launch in the US on September 8th

After 25 years as the protagonist of the Pokemon anime, Ash Ketchum and his friend Pikachu will be giving audiences a fair showing in Pokemon Ultimate Journeys. While the series is airing for the first time in Japan, US-based fans will get to see Ash’s final arc, when the series hits Netflix on September 8th.
