The 78-year-old multi-millionaire has been charged with stabbing his friend Susan Berman in the head to prevent him from talking to police about his wife Kathleen’s disappearance at her home in Beverly Hills in September.

“This crime is the murder of a witness,” Judge Mark Wyndham said before handing down the sentence. “This situation (…) greatly aggravated this heinous and confusing crime,” he added.

The magistrate rejected the defendant’s request for a new trial, arguing that there was “sufficient, indeed enormous, evidence of guilt.”

The court heard from a son of a victim that he wondered what his life would have been like if Robert Turst had not killed his mother.

“All the plans have been completely destroyed,” Sarab Kaufman said in tears. “You killed me too, (you killed yourself) me.”

During the interrogation, Robert Turst, who pleaded not guilty, was found almost motionless in his wheelchair.

Susan Berman’s relatives asked the court where her wife Kathleen’s body was.

Ms. Susan Berman is said to have helped Robert Durst cover up her role in the murder of his wife, Kathleen, and to prevent her from responding to New York police officers investigating the disappearance of his wife. Mr. In 1982.

Robert Turst, a black goat, one of the largest families in New York real estate, was arrested in March 2015 before the airing of the last episode of the six-part biographical documentary “The Jinx” on HBO.

The series revisited another bloody chapter in the life of Robert Durst: the murder of a neighbor, who was later cut off and thrown into the sea.

He was acquitted by an army of eminent lawyers.

In “The Jinx”, Mr. Thurst made an arbitrary confession, whispered to him while he was in the bathroom and his wireless mic was not turned off, “What did I do?” I killed them all, frankly. “
