The latest generation of Amazon Paperwhites has become harder to find since the 2021 model arrived, even if it wasn’t a huge step back in terms of features. It still carries IPX8-rated for complete water resistance, plus a crisp six-inch 300ppi display and support for Audible audiobooks via Bluetooth headphones, the newer Paperwhite has a bigger screen and better backlighting—not to mention wireless charging, if you’re into that. Choose the 32GB Signature Edition —but it rarely drops below $100, even when it’s on sale. The real travesty here is the fact that the 10th-gen Paperwhite only offers 8GB of storage in its base configuration and uses Micro USB for charging instead of USB-C, which seemed like a mistake even in 2018.
