No matter how many of us are car geeks about the importance of unique colors in high-performance cars, there will always be customers who prefer plain black. In fact, I remember interviewing former BMW M CEO Markus Flasch when he was F87 M2 Competition He was new and we asked him what his favorite color was. It was black on black. Black paint has always been great at masking body lines and unwanted details in cars. Do you have a controversial design? Get black paint. worked for BMW M4. And while this certainly works on the front end, where the black paint reduces the visual impact of the front end design in your face, it also ends up hurting the M2 elsewhere.

With the Sapphire Black, you can hardly see the cool boxy rear fender flares or how aggressive the hood bulge is. It all seems to turn into an unshadowed spot. This is the gamble you take with dark black paint.

Having said that, there is serious aggression that black paint like this brings. The BMW M2 in black looks like it wants to hit the faces of all who dare stand in its way. And if that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed.
