Earlier this week, leaker 'Instant Digital' on Chinese blogging site Weibo claimed that Apple will make an iPad-related announcement next Tuesday, March 26, hinting at a possible press release ahead of pre-orders and the launch date. While disputing the March 26 announcement, Gorman did not share any specific claims of his own regarding an announcement or launch date for the new iPad Pro and iPad Air models in the works, most recently citing a general time frame “around the end of March or April.”
Gorman offered more color on the timing in his latest release employment The “version of iPadOS 17.4” that will ship on the new iPad models won't be ready until at least late this month, the newsletter said, with it likely taking “two weeks” for the software to be installed on initial shipments. Gorman says this timing will likely take things “beyond next month” for the launch of the new iPads although the announcement could happen a little sooner.
