Jenna Ortega calls out Michael Keaton

Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the follow-up to the classic 1988 horror-comedy. Michael Keaton returns as the foul-mouthed, shape-shifting ghoul who is joined by new cast members Gina Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara also reprise their roles from the original film.

‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ sees the Deetz clan return to their home of Winter River after a sudden death in the family. When Lydia’s (Ryder) rebellious teenage daughter Astrid (Ortega) discovers a portal to the afterlife hidden in the basement, the evil spirit’s name Beetlejuice is inevitably repeated three times, inviting him to wreak havoc on the Dietz family home once again.

“The living and the dead… can they coexist? That’s what we’re here to find out,” Ryder Lydia says in the trailer.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is the latest horror title from scream queen star Ortega, who has made a name for herself as a staple of the genre. She previously starred in the Netflix original series “Wednesday” as a member of the titular Addams Family as well as Ti West’s “X” and two installments of the rebooted “Scream” franchise. However, it was recently announced that Ortega would not be returning for “Scream 7” due to a schedule conflict for “Wednesday” Season 2.

Tim Burton returns to produce and direct the sequel to “Beetlejuice” from a screenplay by “Wednesday” screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Executive producers include Brad Pitt, David Katzenberg, Lawrence Sinelec, Goff, Millar, Sarah Desmond, Caterly Frauenfelder and Andrew Leary. Tommy Harper, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner serve as producers. Danny Elfman is scheduled to compose the film’s music.
