The NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti is finally official

NVIDIA today introduced its third and cheapest RTX 40 desktop GPU to date.

The RTX 4070 Ti is a high-end GPU that delivers up to 40 TFLOPs of computing performance. This card is based on AD104 GPU with 7680 CUDA cores, which is a complete configuration of this graphics processor. The card is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at 21Gbps. Since the GPU is attached to a 192-bit memory bus, its maximum bandwidth will be limited to 504GB/s, which is actually 104GB/s slower than its predecessor, the RTX 3070 Ti.

The NVIDIA 4070 Ti will launch as a partner card only, which means there’s no foundation version, though the render above would suggest otherwise. Almost every RTX 4070 Ti card leaked or unveiled so far has three fans and a 2- to 3.5-slot cooling design. That should be more than enough for a 285W TDP, though.

This is the third desktop card based on the Ada Lovelace architecture and the third Ada GPU to be announced, after the AD102 (RTX 4090) and AD103 (RTX 4080). They are all based on the same TSMC 4N dedicated process node. The AD104 GPU will have about 10B fewer transistors than the AD103 (35.8 billion in total), with a die size of about 295mm².

Reviewers will post their test results as soon as tomorrow, while the card will be available for sale on January 5th. The MSRP of $799 will apply to the cheapest models at launch, especially cards that don’t offer factory overclocking.
